Spring is here & so is an update!
The Dormer Window Studio is a space to connect with the creative self. Thank you again for being here. It means a lot that you believe in this space and its mission. I’ve received so many beautiful messages and reflections. Each one has meant a lot to me. Thank you, thank you!
If you’re a fan, I’d be really grateful (she says sheepishly) if you’d forward a post along to a friend, highlight it on your social media feed, do whatever you can to help me build up the Dormer Window community. I envision this space as a virtual and in-person gathering spot, where people can tap into and grow their creative work. Your help in this mission is huge. Thank you!
Here are some reader favourites:
Identifying voice & going beyond voice
An interview on the science of our creative brain
Getting lost to allow for newness: an interview with artist Kara McIntosh
To that end, I’m excited to report that some Dormer Window activities are in the works.
Here’s what’s cooking:
Art in Plein-Air
Creating visual art, poetry & flash writing in the natural world. For beginners, experts & the curious. A full roster of workshops with dates, times, etc is coming soon. We’ll be kicking things off in Thorncliffe Park as we did last year (photo below from one of last summer’s workshops).
Art Event
An evening arts gathering on the theme BEING/NOT BEING TRIBAL. Fall 2024. Further details to come.
The Family Story Course
For 7 years, my creative work has focused on memory and family narratives. I’m working with some talented people to put a course together. I’m excited by what’s taking shape. More to come later this year.
The Dormer Window is here for you! Let me know if you have any themes you’d like featured, or maybe you have questions?
With spring slowly emerging, I’m hoping you’ll want to explore more of the creative self with me, and in-person :)
I’ll be in touch!
